Scope of Work
The original design called for 6×6-W2.1xW2.1 welded wire reinforcement (WWR) reinforcement. Raleigh East Concrete Construction requested an alternative using macrofibers instead of WWR. FullForce collaborated with Chandler Concrete and LHC Structural Engineers to develop a macrofiber solution consisting of 4 lbs/yd³ FiberForce 750 synthetic macrofiber that met the requirements of the Steel Deck Institute’s C-2017 standards and satisfied all parties involved.
By using FiberForce 750, the contractor adhered to a tight schedule at a competitive cost. The use of fiber reinforcement enhanced job site safety by eliminating trip hazards associated with WWR and rebar. It also freed up space that would have been needed for WWR storage and staging. Additionally, eliminating the need to place, chair, tie, and inspect the WWR significantly improved the overall project efficiency.
