Scope of Work
For the Orange County Northern Campus Detention Center, located in Hillsborough, NC, FiberForce 750TM, was used to replace 6×6-W2.9 x W2.9 in slab-on-grade and the WWF in composite metal decks. The primary motivation for using fiber was for cost-savings and time-management benefits.
Additional benefits of using FiberForce 750TM to replace traditional steel reinforcement include:
- Crack-width control for concrete due to shrinkage and temperature restraint
- Redistribution of shrinkage-stresses in concrete
- Increases in concrete durability, including impact and abrasion resistance, fatigue strength, and ductility
