Scope of Work
Leading Edge needed a new, larger hangar for private aircraft storage with upgrades that included a meeting facility with outdoor space for events as well as a new reception area and lounge area for pilots. The slab on grade areas’ original design included an 8” perimeter slab with #5 rebar at 12” on center mid-depth. The remaining larger portion of the slab was 11” with #5 rebar at 12” on center, both top and bottom. Sunwest Builders, Bend Concrete, and Knife River wanted to value engineer the slab, and FullForce was able to offer a complete replacement for the perimeter slabs with 4 lb/yd3 of FiberForce 750™ macrofiber and a hybrid solution for the 11” slab by replacing the top layer of #5 rebar with 7 lb/yd3 of FiberForce 750™. FullForce was able to offer assistance to the ready-mix supplier on the mix design to maintain a pumpable and workable mix.
