Project Spotlight

Kremmling Airport Hanger

Scope of Work

Brenner Materials supplied the concrete for both the interior and exterior slabs on grade for the new airplane hangar, incorporating 1.5 lbs/yd³ of FiberForce 300 microfiber. The contractor highlighted that the use of fiber eliminates the need for steel reinforcement, facilitating the maneuverability of trucks for concrete placement. Ensuring flatness and levelness of the surfaces is critical for the hangar to allow smooth movement of airplanes and secure parking. Power trowels were utilized to achieve a near-mirror, burnished finish on the interior surface.

“I always use fiber because it helps me buy some time to minimize unwanted cracking before I can get on it to sawcut the control joints.”
