Kingvale Bridge Deck Phase I

Scope of Work

Cal-Trans is rehabbing the I-80 corridor over the Sierra Nevada Mountains. They are repaving the highway and rebuilding bridges to add new lanes. In Phase I, they poured two separate bridge decks roughly 1/4 mile apart. The challenges came from having to do this in the mountains on uneven surfaces, while not blocking the traffic on I-80 as it is the lifeblood of Nevada. The concrete was dosed with FiberForce 600 at one bag per yard. Each bridge deck used roughly 73 yd3 each.
