Scope of Work
The Gateway Development project consists of three warehouses totaling nearly 900,000 ft2 of interior slabs. An Ashford densifier was originally specified for the slabs, but David Venegas of Vemac Engineering proposed DuraForce(t) as an alternative. The DuraForce(t) densifier plus cure and seal allowed Venegas to speed-up the project and save money for the owner. The DuraForce(t) is a one-time application whereas the Ashford products requires 2+ applications and a curing product added later on. Venegas also noted that DuraForce(t) worked well with the bond breakers specified for the tilt- up, giving the slab a “buttery” texture that made it easy to lift and clean the tilt-up walls.
