Project Spotlight

R&L Carriers

Scope of Work

The project consisted of an addition to an existing building that included a warehouse slab and loading dock. Given the off-loading and forklift traffic the warehouse floor sees, the decision was made to use 6 lbs/yd³ of FiberForce 750 synthetic macrofibers in the 8” slab to replace the typical rebar option. The fibers mixed well and there were no balling or mixing issues.

The project’s concrete contractor, Fenix Concrete, was impressed with how the fibers finished with little to no visible fibers on the surface of the slab. The ready-mix supplier, Kienstra, whom had never worked with FiberForce 750 synthetic macrofibers, was similarly impressed.
