Scope of Work
FiberForce 650™ was used on the box culvert under I-25 near the Hwy 119 exit. The roughly 10’ tall and 12” thick CDOT structure needed to be cast in place concrete that was highly durable with minimal cracking as an interstate highway goes over it. Other mixes have been tried but are difficult to produce in the mass market. The Class D mix has been a staple for many years and works well but is enhanced greatly by the addition of 4#/cy of macrofiber. Much of the shrinkage and temperature cracking is eliminated. In an environment where there will be foot traffic, crack reduction or elimination is important.
